  As a leading company of EPS packaging products in Pearl River Delta, Taiyuan Packing Product (Zhong shan) Company was dominated by objective conditions such as pressure of market competition, employment difficulty, production equipment, and outdated technologies, facing bottleneck of development. In August 2014, in order to seek development and revitalize the company, Taiyuan entered into as trategic cooperation program me with Hangzhou Fangyuan Plastics Machinery Co., Ltd., the navigator of EPS equipment in China, aiming to build an EPS package producer with “automated equipment, networked data, efficient production, and environmentally-friendly factory”.

    In March 2015, the Taiyuan Production Line 1 planned and designed comprehensively by technical team from Fangyuan was put into operation. This production line has game-changing cutting-edge technologies, its core features include: innovative equipment and high-efficiency, low-consumption molding process, efficient mold system, as well as effective combination with standardized auxiliary system.

High-efficiency, Low-consumption EPS Molding Process

    1.Fangyuan’s high efficiency, low-consumption molding machine and tower-type central vacuum system combine the “low-pressure, high-temperature” processes in a perfect manner. Lude : innovative equipment and high-efficiency, low-consumption molding process, efficient mold system, as well as effective combination with standardized auxiliary system.

   2.Fangyuan’s patented steam linear proportional heating control, closed loop feedback of cavity pressure, cavity and air chamber insulation, energy recovery technology are utilized effectively. equipment and high-efficiency, low-consumption molding process, efficient mold system, as well as effective combination with standardized auxiliary system.

   3. PLC and touch screen have Ethernet functionality, which can realize remote monitoring and data-based management.

   5. Production cycles of products are 40-70s generally, with moisture content below 7%, and products can be used for packaging immediately.

   6. Fangyuan’s patented SMED mechanism is applied, exchange of dies only requires 20 minutes.

   7. With auxiliary vacuum process of tower-type central vacuum system, negative pressure of the system can reach -0.75bar.

Efficient EPS Mold System 

    1. Design and manufacture with three-plate mold structure. Mold core is processed with vacuum casting technology, machined with CNC, which reduces mold heat absorption and consumption by 20%.

    2. With front-sealed ejector structure, feeding speed is less than 3s, and material feeding is uniform, no defects of incomplete filling and overfilling.

    3. With SMED mechanism, exchange of dies is convenient, safe, which improves running efficiency of equipment significantly.

Standardized Engineering Auxiliary System Design

     1.With medium-temperature water, high-pressure 4bar mold cooling water and low-temperature water, and low-pressure 3bar vacuum cooling water separation technology, constant-pressure water supply system, and frequency conversion control, mold cooling cycle is only 1-3s, which provides guarantee for subsequent vacuum process, high-temperature mold release.

    2. Separation of high and low pressure air can ensure sound operation of pneumatic actuator valve, and reduce reject rate substantially. old cooling cycle is only 1-3s, which provides guarantee for subsequent vacuum process, high-temperature mold release.

    3.The system is equipped with an energy storage tank; enthalpy value of steam at inlet is reduced by lowering pressure and temperature, so as to reduce steam consumption. h provides guarantee for subsequent vacuum process, high-temperature mold release.

    4.With auxiliary vacuum process of tower-type central vacuum system, negative pressure of the system can reach -0.75bar, vacuum of individual machine can reach -0.6bar. Power consumption of vacuuming is reduced substantially, enabling high-temperature mold release (release temperature 75-85℃)process.

New equipment, new technology, and new system inject Taiyuan with unprecedented new vitality.

    1.    Now production capacity of individual machine in new plant can reach 900 kg/day, nearly 50% higher than old equipment.

    2.     Reduce operators by 30% approximately.

    3.     According to comprehensive testing results, steam consumption is reduced by 25% in comparison with old ones.

    4.     According to comprehensive tests, power consumption of auxiliary system is reduced by 20%in comparison with old system.

    5.     Work conditions for front-line workers are improved significantly, they now wok in water-free, steam-free, low-temperature comfort environment.

 1. Outdated equipment and lagging-behind technologies. Rate of individual machine was 60-130second/mold, per-machine capacity and per capita output were also not optimistic, and you can image what profitability the company had have.

 2. Leakage of equipment and molds led to terrible work conditions. Waste of steam, water, and air was severe, with huge energy consumption.

 3.Front-line workers faced terrible work environment, with high humidity in the plant, efficiency of workers under humid, hot environment was very low, and we had difficulty to recruit workers.

 4.Taiyuan and Fangyuan are joining hands with strengths to build a modern EPS package enterprise with greatest competitiveness, strongest new vitality of enterprise in the Pearl River Delta and even across the country, and to guide the EPS development in the world.
